ULTRA Internal Waterproofing System

Type C protection allows water to enter the structure but it is controlled by means of a Cavity Drainage System. This system typically consists of HDPE dimpled membranes, perimeter drainage channel and a suitably positioned mechanical pump or existing drain to deal with water ingress.The chosen drainage system must be maintainable in order to conform with BS8102.

NEW BUILD

 

This installation is typical in new build basements where floor insulation is required.

 

ULTRA 8 cavity membrane has been installed on the internal walls in conjunction with ULTRA 20 membrane on the floor. A timber stud frame is fixed directly into the ULTRA Brick Plugs to prevent puncturing of the wall membrane. ULTRA Drainage channel directs any water ingress to an ULTRA Twin Pump system (not shown).

A minimum of 50mm concrete/screed is required directly on top of the membrane before applying the preferred floor finish. ULTRA membranes can be used in conjunction with closed cell insulation to ensure greater thermal efficiency in the basement. 

EXISTING CONCRETE SLAB

 

This installation is typical when waterproofing a basement with an existing concrete slab or a new slab where head height is a concern.
